Got the taxes mailed out today - 8 entire days early! Yay. We couldn't do them electronically because of the 2555s (overseas income). The envelope for the Federal taxes was so heavy I took it to the Post Office and had them weigh it. 83 cents to mail - that's a lot.

I need to restock my office supply of sugar-free chocolate, as my Easter stash has finally run out. That stuff really saved my butt a couple of times... once or twice I was so stressed out I absolutely had to have chocolate or kill something.

A thing that will never cease to amuse me: Cleaning out the litter boxes into the Trader Joe's grocery bags that say "Contains recycled materials". Well, it does NOW...

This whole having to do your own taxes thing stinks. I never realised how much I appreciated having it all done automatically at source until I had to go into town here and fill things out to say that most of it was being done at source.

I wholeheartedly agree. I am SO happy we paid someone to do them for us this year. Doing mine last year was bad enough. (Yes, even though I was living abroad for the entire tax year I still had to file US taxes. That was made even less fun by the complete absence of possibility of a refund, but at least they sensibly agreed I didn't owe them anything.)
