Bizarre LJ behaviour
Oct. 26th, 2006 11:13 amHas anyone else noticed LJ randomly time stamping some posts as GMT rather than local time? Or am I just special again?
Now where the hell did my last post go?! I am not seeing it on my friends page!
EDIT: Oh good. Back-dated posts don't appear on friends pages. WTF? (And why the @$#%$! did LJ break an earlier post so I HAD to back date the second one in order to post it at all? Yippee for things that are supposed to Just Work.)

Apparently I didn't have a time zone selected in my LJ user info thingy. At all. On the server side.
And yet, oddly, everything seemed to be working just fine until this week. And things were occasionally seeming to work fine anyway.
I blame sunspots.
(Yes, I've set it to US Pacific time. We'll see if that actually sticks. It would explain why some of my posts were promoted 8 hours into the future. But only *some* of them? It makes my head hurt.)
Who else remembers when we were young and naive and thought computers were going to make our lives EASIER?
And yet, oddly, everything seemed to be working just fine until this week. And things were occasionally seeming to work fine anyway.
