For anyone who has seen Dramatic SoCal Flood Video on the news...
We are okay here. There are a lot of stories on the news about mudslides, houses and cars washing away... but when the mudslides take out houses, it tends to be because some rich idiot has built a house someplace really stupid (or bought the place really cheap after the LAST round of mudslides); and of all the "dramatic rescue and/or tragedy in flooded car" stories I've seen so far have been due to idiots ignoring road closures. I feel bad when kids get caught up in these things, because they couldn't help being in the wrong place at the wrong time; but the adults should really know better.
Down here in the flat bits, the rain tends to just run off to the ocean (eventually). The worst inconvenience we've encountered is the bike path being closed, not that anyone wants to bike to work in this anyway. And yesterday I had to take a different route to the freeway because a ramp was flooded. That's all.
Still, I was told this place was going to be sunny! I guess it's too late to ask for my money back...

Want to swap your wind and rain for my snow? More due Friday, I'm told.
