Today's shopping excitement

Never did get around to shopping for work clothes... today we drove to Long Beach and found one of the local game shops, where we spent a bit of money; then drove around scenic Long Beach for a bit, saw the Queen Mary, and explored a Russian Scorpion submarine that's parked next to the Queen Mary for some reason. Good fun, especially the bits about trying to figure out what all the Russian words meant (I knew embarrassingly few of them, but what can I say, the courses at U of M didn't specialise in technical terminology...) Then an early dinner, and now we're at home being slugs and making optimal use of the couch, the teapot, and the fireplace.
We have also taken the exceedingly dangerous step of naming the indoor cat Nibbler. He's not an indoor cat much of the time yet, but we're working on that.

And you do realise that you'll have to take Fred there too... He may not speak Russian, but he almost certainly knows the technical terminology.
Which reminds me of the strangest question I've ever been asked: How do you jump-start a U-Boat? It wasn't even an RPG-related question.
