Had a very nice, very mellow Christmas morning with
stuartc.
flyingwolf showed up in the afternoon and we had a very mellow afternoon. Some more baking took place, including the most awesomely yummy mini pecan pies ever (mape syrup RULES!), then we had Christmas dinner of duck and veggies (no leftover duck! boo!) and mince pies and chocolate chip cookies and the aforementioned awesome mini pecan pies. Today we failed utterly to score useful cat toys, but
flyingwolf got some cool stuff at the model train store, and then we froze our butts off on Venice Beach. Came home and had a tiny fire, which we're allowing to die down because we're probably going to go out for dinner soon. We're stubbornly continuing in the "mellow" vein, refusing to have enough energy to actually get up and do anything energetic. Forecast is continuing mellowness and pies for the next few days...

(I think it's Canadian maple syrup, so we can probably blame NAFTA.)
