Today I ran some miscellaneous errands, then came back home and sat down to some serious job hunting - at least, more serious than usual of late. I intended to surf job listings for an hour, fire off 5 or more rapid emails, and spend the rest of the day sorting socks or something.

Surfed job listings for an hour - check. Fired off two moderately rapid emails - check. Spent another TWO BLINKING HOURS struggling with doofy, broken on-line application systems. Eventually succeeded in applying for three more jobs, but on one of the systems I managed to get about half of my information into my profile where it then got stuck. (I mentioned this in my covering email, though I stopped short of asking whether they were also hiring web programmers to fix their site.)

After that, a much-needed walk around the block to clear my head. (Walking around the block is kind of an abstract concept here, as we live on a dead-end street; I haven't yet walked around the same block twice.)

Have also done much laundry and made the discovery that the stepladder and I, combined, are too short to do anything useful in the attic. Oh well.
