Having lunch at 4 PM is always a sign of a productive day...

The most exotic thing I did today was to buy a half-kilo jar of garlic pickle at one of the local Indian groceries. (Which, by the way, did NOT have unsweetened coconut; or in fact *any* kind of coconut that I could detect. There goes that theory.)

The most boring thing I did today involved putting gas in the car.

The most exciting and time-consuming thing I did today was to take about an hour and a half to clean what could technically be described as a single window. The big front window in the kitchen has 32 panes, and cleaning the inside was merely time-consuming. Then I had to set up the stepladder behind the palm trees so I could do the outside. Luckily there was actually enough room to do this (sort of); but the ground is uneven, there's hardly any place to put stuff down, and have I mentioned the palm trees get in the way a bit? At one point I'd worked out a very satisfactory arrangement where I was stashing the roll of paper towels *in* one of the trees.

Purple glasses have been ordered.

And if that's not all scary enough, I just got a phone call from the nice relocation people - our stuff is turning up on Friday! Huzzah.

That's a good solution.

When I'm cleaning windows, I'll hang two plastic grocery bags from my belt (a knife pouch makes a useful hook). In one bag I'll put the paper towel roll, with enough of the roll unraveled so I can easily pull and grab a towel. In the other bag I'll put the used towels.
