Happiness is having band-mates who are supportive, resourceful, big-hearted, and silly. Even if they do insist on playing "Feliz Navidad" from time to time.

Happiness is knowing that EVENTUALLY we may all get copies of the group shot of the band, and we may even eventually get to SEE the less silly of the two shots that were taken. (I want to see that one because I'm sure it will show more of the red dress, hopefully without showing TOO much.)

Happiness is being in possession of the one known copy of the band group shot, and getting to show it off to anyone who will stand still for 5 seconds.

Slightly less happiness is seeing the one posed shot of [livejournal.com profile] stuartc and myself in our party duds, which is way overexposed in at least two different senses of the word. Let's just say, I still don't think there is a decent picture of me from the party; and I stand by my apprehension that that dress does not stand up to a strong light.

Happiness is a highly local "no MSG" Korean cafe that serves lunch until 4 PM. Mmmmmmmm Korean barbecue.

Google Maps has just ceased being useful... not only is the map area confined to a relatively tiny rectangle of fixed size (where it used to expand or shrink with my browser window); not only have they removed most of the UI for zoom levels; but now I get this when I try to get directions:

"Google does not support directions on its html interface. If your browser supports JavaScript, enable it, and then click here."

What the @$%#? So much for that...

edit: How weird. I'm home now and it's working fine in Safari. (It will even give me directions from Torrance to Los Feliz, which is all I ever really wanted.) Just one of those things I guess...

Road trip!

The reason I was using Google Maps? To find our where the heck Los Feliz is... for I have volunteered to heroically bail out the band's fearless but overcommitted leader and return the rented keyboard so we don't get charged for another month.

Luckily Torrance to Los Feliz is only 20 miles. Given typical lunchtime traffic, that should be what, about 2 hours?

Man, the universe is gonna owe me BIG TIME for this.

(BTW, Google Maps is now working fine for me. Of course, I'm at home now. Something has probably confused my work browser... big shock there, it *is* running on Windows after all...)
