The reason I was using Google Maps? To find our where the heck Los Feliz is... for I have volunteered to heroically bail out the band's fearless but overcommitted leader and return the rented keyboard so we don't get charged for another month.

Luckily Torrance to Los Feliz is only 20 miles. Given typical lunchtime traffic, that should be what, about 2 hours?

Man, the universe is gonna owe me BIG TIME for this.

(BTW, Google Maps is now working fine for me. Of course, I'm at home now. Something has probably confused my work browser... big shock there, it *is* running on Windows after all...)

From Torrance to Los Feliz? You should have just asked the right person :-). Basically, you want to get to the southern edge of Griffith Park. You have two choices: 405 to 10 and up Western (or through downtown), or 105 to 110 and then up the 101, exiting at Western or Vermont, and going up. Note that if the 101 is bad, you can take the 5, and exit at Los Feliz. So just listen to the traffic reports, and pick your route. Figure 45 minutes minimum. You might do it in 30, you might do it in an hour.

Work is so close to the 110 I might just take the 405 south to the 110... jeeze, I wish I had one of those spiffy new satnav things with the XM and live traffic updates, like Alpine makes... doh!

(Seriously, I'm technically going to be on ALPINE BUSINESS.... bet they won't lend me one of those anyway...)

Oh, duh. Make that 190th Street to the 110, the 405 need not get involved.

What's a good radio station for traffic reports? (I do have satnav, it's just amusingly out of date and occasionally gets completely crazy ideas about route optimization. So I'm willing to be a little experimental with the route...)

Thanks, I knew SigAlert. It's just that things tend to change after I leave my desk.

Thanks! Wish me luck!! (-:
