ahhh...

This is the life... sitting on the swing in the back yard with my PowerBook surfin' the Internet. My two main regrets are that I need fairly deep shade to see the screen well, and that my battery life is finite. I can live with that.

Relativity

Considering that I spent my last two winters in Scotland, I cannot BELIEVE how cranky I'm getting about the fact that the sun is going down as early as 4:30. And yet, I am.

How quickly we adapt, and forget...

domesticity and (of course) fire

There has been birthday cake, with candles. (Fewer than 39; we didn't want to test out the smoke alarms...) Stuff has been retrieved from storage; shelves have been built; a fire has been lit in the fireplace. There's beer in the fridge and Bailey's on the counter waiting to be drunk.

Life is good.
