sounds like it could've been posted by my evil ex C., who would have been just as happy eating rice and soy sauce as any meal i'd spent an hour or two preparing.

At the moment I have to agree. Time for cooking is limited and most meals are eaten with Beth on the other arm. However this is only temporary. I'm looking forward to cooking again and with her help. Having said that I still "enjoy" food.
