UK launches major net security awareness campaign
"The 'Get Safe Online' campaign aims to arrest the growth in computer security risks that threaten to slow down the rise of ecommerce."
Talk about doing the right thing for the wrong reasons... let's all be safe out there! Not because it's good for the people, not even for the children for once... but because it's bad for business.
Sigh.

Date: 2005-10-31 02:54 pm (UTC)I can rather get behind, as business (in this beknighted country, anyway)
generally consists of popups, spyware, and UBE, and I quite enjoy my security measures
that minimize these annoyances. Note that congress is continuing to pursue the idea that
it should be illegal to blunt these advertising intrustions. Note also that many of
microsoft's problems stem from their willingness to bend over for big business (I have
long referred to internet explorer as "advertiser friendly", and for good reason).
