Productivity? On a Saturday? Before 1 PM?
Nov. 6th, 2004 01:15 pmWith *my* reputation? They must be stark raving bonkers! (Sorry, been watching FAR too much Fast Show.)
Thanks,
merde, for the gentle nudge - I went into a strange natural foods store today (Rainbow Acres, next to the Post Office), expecting the place to be about the size of a large closet, and was pleasantly surprised to find the place is absolutely huge! I think they consulted with the Tardis people on this one. And well stocked - they had unsweetened coconut, in three different form factors!! (Large flakes, "long" shreds (the normal stuff), and "macaroon" (ground nearly to powder).) Wow. I bought the long-shred stuff, plus some pistachios and some orange-blossom honey just because.
I had also been internally angsting about whether to bother looking for natural food stores before we move - why bother finding one near this place when we're leaving in 3 days? - but this is right next to our post office box, so there.
Met with the landlady this morning; paid November rent, collected key, forgot to ask if the house is wired for the evil Comcast cable. (All cablecos are evil, I have nothing in particular against Comcast. Yet.) Did a forwarding order at the post office, checked the PO box, got cards to put more money on our cell phones, came home and used the awesome power of the Internet to research cable and satellite TV options. I even went so far as to phone up Comcast(!) and hassle them about the fact that their web site is very proud of their new digital telephone service but refuses to give anything resembling pricing. How productive is that?
Thanks,
