From Ananova: Hand grenade mistaken for spud

'According to The Sun a company spokesman said: "It is something that we will be looking into with our suppliers. It is obviously not an efficient use of our staff's time if we have to keep evacuating the premises."'

Oh, and they found out how the piano got on top of Ben Nevis. Hurrah for follow-up!

Both the Beeb (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/highlands_and_islands/4998440.stm) and the Times (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2188361,00.html) have fuller reports.

(Without the novelty of their onetime synthesized news reader, Ananova strikes me as mostly crap, particularly since their coverage of what they think is classical music is mostly mockera singers.)

I enjoy reading the "Quirkies" section on Ananova. A lot of really funny news stories come out of Eastern Europe that I probably wouldn't hear about in any other way.

I'm also sad that they dropped Formula One racing from their sports coverage a couple of years ago. They always had the BEST of the vicious and unconfirmable rumours...

To be fair, the Beeb story does provide the additional information that the men will not be fined for littering. But it's already fallen off the Scotland stories page. (I love the BBC news coverage, but stuff just doesn't stay put!)
