If you have a cold and are not capable of producing a humming noise, do NOT attempt to play the kazoo. You will just hyperventilate and fall over.

I do believe that is the first kazoo-related injury I've ever heard of. :-}

More seriously, I hope you didn't hurt anything during the falling-over part!

I was already sitting down, so I sort of swooned in the chair rather than falling over. It was a minute before I could get up though.

I was discussing this with a cow orker, and she claims she once split her lip playing the kazoo. I told her she wins on the actual injury front!

Who knew kazoos were so dangerous?!

I haven't played flute, tin whistle, sax, etc in years. I might hyperventilate and fall over, cold or not ;)

Nope, just trying to annoy my lead guitarist. (-:

So if you have a cold, you should stick to playing the swannee whistle.

I'm going to stick to playing non-wind instruments for a while. Possibly while sitting down.

Goodness. Hope you are better.

I recovered fairly swiftly from the kazoo incident. The cold retains its death grip on me though. (At least now I'm energetic enough to be pissed off about it. It's nice that I'm regaining my will to live.)

Lurve your icon – wish I had a bigger version of it!

Sadly, all of the good stage pictures of me show my evil twin to much better effect. Here (http://pics.livejournal.com/dianec42/pic/0000be20/g3) is a typical example.

You'll just have to get a photographer who's obsessed with you to take band pictures then! That is a great pic, tho.

I mostly have to not stand in the back the entire time! (Yes, I have given this some thought. Possibly too much thought. I have something like a 40-point list of things to do so I'll look better in the pictures next time. This list eventually morphed into my new year's resolutions for 2006.)

Your icon wins for cuteness though! I need more icons...

I'll see what I can do about uploading the cowbell pics. I've been lame.

"You'll just have to get a photographer who's obsessed with you to take band pictures then"

She did. ;)

(Also one who knew how nervous she was and realized he'd get lynched if he used his SLR and external flash to get enough light for a good picture.)

Yeah, unfortunately we needed to add to that "Get a lead guitarist who doesn't step into the damn shot at every opportunity."
