So I had this great plan... as we were out of Balance bars, I thought I'd bring a Healthy Snack to work today. So I put some baby carrots into a Gladware tub, and threw a few BabyBel cheeses in with the carrots 'cause I'm lazy and if they were in the bottom of a big shopping bag I knew I'd never find them again.

Now, these carrots were not the shiniest and newest, but they looked and smelled okay this morning.

So around 4 PM I get out the Gladware tub... and it's seriously inflated. Okay.... I'm assuming this means the carrots have gone off. (They still smelled okay, but the one thing worse than having a yucky head cold is having a yucky head cold AND *ahem* digestive distress... so I decided throwing out the carrots was the better part of valor.)

There was also some moisture going on in there, so I put the BabyBels on a napkin... only to discover that the red plastic wrappers were leaching Yucky Red Dye onto the napkin! EWW!

So there you have it: Week-old carrots, the universal solvent. Well, I was certainly impressed.

I try to pack a salad in Tupperware to bring to work. That way, I can have a small Lean Cuisine entre (or something similar) and a big ol' salad. It *usually* works. Sometimes I get lured out by pizza or sushi, etc ;)

I'm also a BabyBel fan :)'

I actually did the salad thing today, for the first time in ages. (To be fair, I've been so sick that last night was the first time I made it to the store in weeks.) Yay salad!

I'm just saying, it seems to work better if the salad isn't in an advanced state of decay... (-:
