- Mexican food
- Taco Bell (not the same thing at all)
- reasonably priced computer bits
- gas may be $2.50 a gallon, but that's still less than half what we were paying for petrol in Dundee
- weather is a *bit* warmer
- Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap (Dilute! Dilute! OK!!!!!)
I have to say a couple of things. One is that I'm feeling a bit ripped off about the weather: I swear it was sunnier in Dundee than it is here at the moment. I actually got RAINED on yesterday! It could be worse, of course: apparently there's a place called Seal Beach which is quite flooded. I bet the seals love it...
Second, a moment of rhapsodizing over the aforementioned soap, mainly for the benefit of my UK friends who may not have experienced this joy. Dr. Bronner's is, at its simplest, liquid soap. No fancy-pants shower gel or what have you, it's just soap, plus a choice of nice - if somewhat strong - smells. The peppermint is quite simply the Altoids of soap. I hope that clears things up, like why the heck I'm so happy about soap. It's obviously the fumes.
And finally, that was just what we were paying for petrol *in Dundee*. Which is kind of the sticks really. I shudder to think what the Londoners are paying right now...
