good birthday

stuartc and I went shopping. I insisted on a pilgrimage to TrueTone Music in Santa Monica, where I was mightily impressed with the selection but didn't actually buy anything; then we went to the nearby mall and shopped for clothes for me. (Clothes being the one kind of birthday present that can't really be bought without me actually being there.) Trousers and a blouse and a couple of jackets were acquired, along with a bonus purse for Christmas partying.
Dinner was at The Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills. We shall both smell of garlic for days. The garlic ice cream was particularly nice.
Some time during the day the postman snuck an additional Amazon package onto the porch. It was a quite large box containing mostly air, plus the new Kate Bush CD! Mmmm nice.
Now for some quiet time with laptops and cats. I feel very well dressed, very full, and very contented. Kate Bush seems to be singing pi at the moment, which is a bit strange even for her.
