For absolutely no reason that I can discern, I am suddenly feeling downright perky. Given that I haven't felt like doing a damn thing for what feels like months now, this is kind of cool.

Oddly, I first detected the signs of perkiness while on my way TO a dental appointment. I have no idea what any of it means; I'm just going to go with it.

Me too. Must be something in the air. I've already dissassembled two shelving units to go to trash, loaded boxes in the garage, hung laundry. Much more energy than usual tonight.

Damn you!

Seriously, I hope your latest smile-enhancement session goes well.

Damn you!

Too late!

Seriously, I hope your latest smile-enhancement session goes well.

Thanks. It's more of a smile preservation effort at this point. =/

I'm doing smile preservation, too, along with chewing preservation. I need an implant to replace a molar. And I think I'll soon need a root canal and crown on a front tooth; one of the the fillings doesn't look good and the whole tooth is basically filling anyway.

Hope your session wasn't too awful.

Ouchie! I'm so sorry. I hope they get you all patched up.

I have kind of the opposite problem. My teeth have always been great, so I felt free to neglect them for decades... and now my gums are about to fall off.

Please teach your daughter to floss religiously and get regular professional cleanings, on pain of death.

She has Karl's good teeth, but brushes so she won't have bad breath (sometimes under parental command still). She just had sealant put on her molars on Saturday, so that will help, too. Damn, I wish I had inherited my Grandma Van Dommelen's teeth; she died at 85 with all 32 (32!) teeth and no fillings. And never any gum problems. My brother got them instead.

Gum problems seem to be a pretty modern thing. (The issue received hilarious treatment in Dave Barry Turns 40 which was obviously a while ago.) Probably something in the additives of all this so-called "food" we eat nowadays...
