Eep! What happened to KMZT? 105.1 seems to be playing country and western now.

I found KMZT's AM presence, but that doesn't work too well while I'm driving, I keep losing the signal. Does anyone know a good backup plan?

I'll have to wait and listen (we have an analog radio); at work, we listen to a classical station that's in the high 80's or low 90's.

I actually intended to ask when I was at my dentist's office a couple of days ago, because they'd clearly found something decent. But I got distracted by a discussion of Stupid Insurance Tricks and forgot to ask!

KUSC FM 91.5.

We tuned in a long while ago and since, NO ONE has complained about our hold music. We've even gotten some compliments. We used to ALWAYS get people whining about anything we had playing.

That happened a couple of months ago. The FM went country, and the AM went classical. If you have an HD radio [sarcasm] as so many people do[/sarcasm], the classical is also on HD. I don't have an alternative plan for you, unfortunately.

Surely all of them are owned by the same gargantuan mega-corp. (-:

Classical music in LA just hasn't been the same since KFAC went rock in the late '80s. (sold out for a mere $100 million or so)

You could always listen to our local classical station (WCPE) via streaming audio at theclassicalstation.org. (If you can get such things through your firewall at work)

Somehow, I thought you were talking about work. Streaming audio in the car is still a bit expensive!

I'm glad you found them on AM. Sol Levine, who owns the stations, swapped them around -- evidently the advertising market prefers the FM. I remember when 1260 was KGIL; it's had numerous incarnations since then.

I know more about this than most other people, because of who I'm dating. I'll clue you in sometime in person.
