We think we know what kind of cat Princess is! [livejournal.com profile] stuartc came across this photo of a Norwegian Forest Cat on wikipedia. Does that look like anyone we know?!

Does she have huge furry paws and tree-climbing claws? I ask as one who has been climbed by a NFC before now... :)

She has delicate paws but they are extremely furry. Her claws are needle-sharp and would probably be quite good for climbing evergreens.

Have I mentioned I'm glad she's a girl? Apparently the males get to be about twice the size...

I didn't realise that the sex difference was so great. Having been acquainted of two very large male NFCs I can confirm that they're more like small sheep than large cats.

Yeah, I was reading the Wikipedia article and thinking, "This CAN'T be right, it says they typically reach about 22 pounds!" Then I got the the bit about how that was the males, and the females are about half the size.

(Bloody typical article, where "male" is considered "normal" and anything else is an aberration.)

The cat in the Wikipedia article, aside from being much too large, looks SO much like Princess it's uncanny. Even the facial markings are nearly identical.
