Stupid web site tricks

So I thought I'd goof off help in the search for hiking boots... a Google search for "Columbia sportswear" found me the useful-looking site www.columbia.com... okay, it's got too much Flash, that's annoying, but whatever.

Searched the category "Footwear" by activity "Camping/Hiking" (because apparently you can't JUST look at footwear, that might be useful). It found 2 matches.

Both of them are jackets, which also happen to be hideously ugly.

There's no "feedback" link that I can find. Oh well. Hopefully they logged that my visit lasted less than 3 minutes. Perhaps someone, someday, will wonder why.

We tried the actual REI store. Everything was beige or mud brown.

I suppose they might theoretically carry things that they didn't happen to have in stock at the store we went to. I'm a bit dubious though.

Obviously, that's so you can't see the mud and dirt that accumulates on the boots after a long hike.

"Mud" is a ridiculous colour for boots in LA. "Dust" would be more like it if you're actually going to do any hiking. Or perhaps "smog"...
