This weekend was mainly spent shopping. Saturday we successfully got rid of the old dead microwave, and drove around lots shopping for a new one. We found the perfect microwave at Best Buy (a shiny little LG number) only to find out they didn't have any in stock. We perused the rest of their selection again, and decided that the nice big Panasonic was suitably studly and would also look okay in our kitchen.

When we got it home we discovered just how HUGE it is! It takes up the space that was formerly occupied by the old microwave AND the toaster oven, and it's so tall there's no hope of usefully putting the toaster oven (or anything else) on top of it either. Yikes!

It also heats up food about twice as fast as the old one. This will eventually come to be seen as a feature, but at the moment it's a bit of a nuisance.

Other shopping was not so successful. [livejournal.com profile] stuartc still does not have a new pair of boots. Unfortunately, beige and mud-brown are this season's black. I don't know that a shopping trip to the UK is planned, but let's just say it's not entirely been ruled out.

Despite assurances that everyone would be home watching the game, all of the roads and shopping centers were as crowded as ever yesterday. Also, I should not people-watch when I am hungry and cranky, so the less said about that the better.

And no, I didn't get my shaman to level 20. My warrior is halfway to level 61 though.

My dear techie sweetheart friend. Chocolate brown and camel are IT over here and on the continent too. Where do you think these fashions start from?

BTW Chocloate brown is a very good colour for boots. Quite sensible.

but my current boots are dark blue. I'd settle for dark grey in a push, but I don't wear beige.

Here in Southern California, of course, mud is less of a practical colour for boots. ;)

"Dust" is the best colour for boots here, I'm afraid.

He may have neglected to mention, the current boots are available in the UK in the current shade of blue. There's just nothing suitable over *here*. That we've found. Yet.

Sadly the closest LL Bean store is in Virginia, which is not very close. But we'll find something. We are nothing if not persistent.
