Well, introverts need to stick together, right? It is much nicer going to a new thing with new people you've never met if you know at least one (or two) people there! That's all I'm saying.
And using the husband as YAE? We'll be going to the NYE thing if we're not out of town so... maybe we'll see you both there? :)
