Today was, at any rate, considerably more productive than yesterday, where most of my accomplishments (other than laundry) took place in the World of Warcraft.

Today (in no particular order) I did some dishes, distressed some jeans for my Halloween costume, permitted [livejournal.com profile] stuartc to drag me to the grocery store, and practiced my bass. Sadly, I see more dishwashing in my future, just as soon as dinner is over.

At least I got a huge number of incompetent bass noises out of my system today. A few competent ones are making their way to the surface at last!

I spent time on the bass today too, way too early this morning when I didn't really want to be awake yet but dreaming about spilling acid on my hand woke me. I'm not sure you'll approve of the piece I wrote (I'm still trying to decide whether to leave in the passage that requires a slide because it goes off the end of the fretboard).

Annoyingly, I didn't finish the guitar/fiddle/bass/drums piece that I really wanted to post this month (since the title I have in mind for it is "Samhain"). But ironically, I noticed that this morning's tune, which started just falling out of my fingertips, should work as an intro for the one I've been working on all month on and off. (So I'm tentatively titling it "Samhain Eve", though until I post it someplace that's subject to changing my mind).

It's kind of funny how some phrases sound different after you've thought about them enough to write them down. Same notes, different energy.
