Yay! The sewing machine works.
Jul. 19th, 2006 10:10 pmI can sew. Yippee.
I've read the instructions for the embroidery unit and the manual for the software. Am officially scared. Sadly, I should probably go score some Proper Embroidery Thread before doing a test design (mutter mutter). Have I bitched lately that I thought my shopping worries were over, and in fact I'm now convinced they've just begun?

Date: 2006-07-20 02:23 pm (UTC)Know that rayon embroidery thread tends to break easily.
Regular thread should be fine, esp. if you are just testing stuff.
Oh, you should also know that when I went from my old clunker to my spiffy new singer, the Coats & Clark thread didn't work for me any more, not up top anyway. Bobbins are fine. Not sure why, something about short vs. long staple thread.... I buy that German thread on the long skinny spools. Forget the name. Begins with a G....
Good luck with the sewing adventures.
