Wait! I get it now. It's the hardcore vs casual debate... but with sewing machines!

(I snapped and ordered it off Amazon last night. And yes, I realise the above is probably only funny to me.)

Glad your ordeal is over (meant to comment in the other thread, but got lost somewhere).

Didn't know sewing machine sales was such a hotbed of snobbery (and general aggravation) until a few years ago when gvdub and I attempted to buy a very basic machine of reasonable quality.

Me, pointing with one hand, holding checkbook with the other: "I want that machine right there."

Sewing machine store guy: "No, you don't."

We went to 4 different places and ended up buying something less than what I really wanted just to get the whole painful process over with.

Hope they didn't skewer you too badly on the shipping.

Impressive! Did you ask, "Then why the hell do you carry it?" I sure would have.

1-day shipping would have been a skewering. I decided I could wait until next week for it to get here. Goodness knows there's enough fabric shopping and cutting out to be done anyway. (Did I mention we scored pirate-shirt-weight silk for six bucks a yard in Culver City? At least Stuart's shopping fu is working!)
