Down the rabbit hole

Two years ago today, my dear husband stuartc and I came to LA for the first time. (And our lives changed! Forever! *cue dramatic music*)

Today is also apparently the birthday of author Lewis Carroll. This seems fitting.

I will post more when I am awake enough to think of something profound.

Accomplishments for the day

I drove 3 other people to dim sum today, to a place I've only been to once before. I was NOT a spaz in the parking lot. Yay me! (It helped that all of my passengers were of the school of thought that (a) the first parking spot you see will be the last parking spot you see, so grab it; and (b) it's a nice day for a walk.)

I ate so much dim sum that I may never be hungry again.

I have hassled everyone in the entire IT department today. Twice.

And finally, I have somehow managed to throw out MY lower back despite the fact that the IT guys are doing all the moving around of stuff.

I need a nap!

I should add

Pursuant to my post from this morning, about today being the second anniversary of our first coming to LA...

(1) At some point, probably soon, I will have been in LA for longer than I was in Dundee. I would probably get really sad about this, except that 2004 was so screwed up that it's going to be impossible to tell exactly when this happens.

(2) I am having ever-more-frequent flashes of being really happy to be here. I hope that trend continues, to the point where I'm happy to be here pretty much all the time. (There have certainly been times when that has not been the case, and I apologise if I've taken that out on any of my friends here.)

(3) It's still really weird here. It's occasionally also really weird being here.

(4) However, a steady supply of good Mexican food makes up for a lot.

(5) I need an LA icon.

Holy crap.

I just drove home in 15 minutes. How did that happen?
