According to weather.com, it is 99 degrees in Torrance right now. I was out there briefly about an hour and a half ago, and I believe it.
addendum: Last year we were in Scotland for all of September and the first couple of weeks of October. I'm starting to wish we could do that every year. (Except for the Packing and Moving Syndrome part, of course.)
