Getting a jump on my New Year's resolutions...

One of my New Year's resolutions is going to be "To be more social". With that in mind, I went out and bought lunch (at 12:15, eek that was crowded), brought it back, and ATE LUNCH AT LUNCHTIME IN THE LUNCH ROOM with my fellow human beings. That was rather pleasant! I should do that more often.

I should definitely BRING my lunch when I do this though. Still not dealing too well with the crowd thing.

Additional new year's resolution idea: "2006 is the year that I will learn to deal with crowds." 'Cause let me tell you, that ain't happening in 2005 at this point! (-:

You seemed pretty sociable to me when you and stuartc and I went to Burger King for a quick dinner on a windy night during Loscon. Maybe fans don't count as "real" people? ;--)

I got teased about that at lunch today too! As I explained it at the time: "I'm perfectly good at being social, I just don't do it often enough!"

There is also a world of difference between having lunch (or dinner) with 2 or 3 people of my choosing, and going to the office Christmas (excuse me) Politically Correct Non-Denominational Holiday party[*] which is 6 hours or so of crowds and strangers and the additional stress of band logistics.

[*] I should macro that, I type it enough.

It's all part of my grand plan to look better in the photos next year, believe it or not. (Step 1, actually BE in more of the photos!)
