[livejournal.com profile] stuartc is away for some work thing in London until Thursday. (It hardly seems fair; I'd enjoy London much more than he would...) I dropped him off at LAX without too much incident (apart from some signage being a bit out of date). We got him to the right place eventually, and as far as I know he is currently on a plane.

On the way back, I decided to stop by the mall. The mall in question is the Fox Hills Mall in the extreme southern bit of Culver City; and it contains a store called Fellini's which carries goddess-like dresses. At, I have always assumed, goddess-like prices. (And for, I also assumed, goddess-like figures... as long as one worships the Stick Insect Goddess) I thought it might be amusing to pop in, try a few things on for inspiration, and then flee to Filene's Robinson's May or Macy's to buy something vaguely similar but actually affordable.

Who knew that today, everything in the shop would be 50% off?

So, I now have a dress and wrap and shoes for the office Christmas party. The shoes are such that I should be able to play half-hour sets without actually dying. (Have I mentioned the band is playing at the Christmas party? This would explain why we're actually practicing...)

The dress is a gorgeous Christmasy shade of red. It's going to clash like hell with the purple bass, which is unfortunate, but such is the price of fashion. Now where the hell is my formal black guitar strap...

Next up: how to keep myself and the cats amused and fed for the next 4 days. Waah.

Oh darling, formal black is so last season. Wait, I am getting gold sequins, no, I've got it, we could reinforce a white feather boa!

I wonder if I can get a black beaded one to go with the shoes...

Well, there's always the fun fur option (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/361103/).

How much fun they had to kill to get that quantity of fur is left as an exercise for the reader.
