We just got back from Sequoia National Park. We saw a bear! (Yes, we saw a black bear, and it was brown.) We did waaaaay too much driving (and by "we" of course I mean
stuartc). I took so many pictures that I am demanding a bigger flash memory card. Trying to copy them to the hard drive now and it seems a bit stuck...
Might try the LJ photo album feature in a bit if I don't fall asleep on the couch first. I wonder how to make it stop trying to copy a single file (there's no progress bar thingy up or nothin'). Stupid MacOS X, I still can't find anything.
update: Some pictures can be found here.

Date: 2005-10-24 02:12 am (UTC)One of these days I would love to revisit the places I saw that year (Sequoia, Big Sur, Yosemite, Redwoods). It's always been interesting to me to revisit certain destinations as an adult.

Date: 2005-10-24 02:35 am (UTC)* well, there were stairs, but it was still quite a hike - esp since it was the evening of the fall
I haven't had a problem with the LJ photo album and OS X, but the pics I've uploaded weren't very large. The only thing I'd do if I had that problem would be close the window. The lack O progress bar is an LJ thing. I look forward to seeing your pics.

Date: 2005-10-25 04:28 am (UTC)P.S. One trick for photographing huge things like sequoias is to have a person in the picture to give viewers a sense of scale.
