we came, we saw, we shopped...
Oct. 9th, 2005 06:50 pmOh my goodness have we shopped this weekend. Triple figures each at REI, Barnes & Noble, and Trader Joe's. And that was just today.
I have three new pairs of shoes, which is quite a haul -- two cute pairs for work and one pair of Proper Hiking boots suitable for Proper Hiking. Also suitable for Proper Hiking, I have two new pairs of zippy trousers from REI (in a non-hideous colour, even!) and a cute wee bottle opener in the shape of a purple guitar. (
stuartc got a bottle opener too, but his is shaped like a shark.) We are avidly plotting a visit to Sequoia National Park, not to mention the purchase of tire chains (sigh, just when I'd had enough of shopping, too).
I find it odd to contemplate snow chains when a week ago it was 99 degrees out. Oh well, this is what we get for moving to a state with proper elevation changes I suppose.
In other news, the haircut thing was a bit anticlimactic, which is probably a good thing. The scraggly ends have all been evened up, and there are some nice layery bits near the front. It feels dreadfully short to me, but it still hits my shoulders and I'll get used to it at some point. (My hair is NEVER actually long enough, so no real change there.)
