chapter 47...
Nov. 9th, 2004 04:49 pm... in which Phone Service Is Ordered, the Oakwood is Checked Out Of, The Maids Finally Arrive, and Spots Are Missed. Also in which, our heroine gets bored and plays "hide the kitchen stuff" until the cable guy finally arrives and there is Internet again.
The house is now very clean. Mostly. Any spots that were missed are probably my fault - if I didn't tell them to do it, and they didn't do it, that's my bad.
Have I mentioned recently that this house is AMAZING? The kitchen is humongous: we had the cabinets stuffed at the Oakwood, and here the stuff has disappeared and there's plenty room for more. There are two big echo-y bedrooms and one small one which is currently echoing to the PC and my typing (yes, the place is still so empty that typing echoes). Just the one bathroom - which has, by the way, the best shower EVER. The view out the front and back is like a tropical jungle - not the wild untamed scary kind, more like the resort kind, and very very nice. The living room is also massive, though that may mostly be because 99% of our stuff is still waiting to go through Customs. (I do have a good feeling it's actually all going to fit.)
I found myself wandering about the place with my jaw hanging open, thinking "I can't believe all this is for us!"
(And yes, I realise this is the calm before the warehouse stage once our stuff does turn up. Let me enjoy it while it lasts, okay?)
