stupid mood swings

I seem to have narrowed it down: when I eat bread, I have annoying mood swings. (There may also be a tenuous exercise connection, wherein when I knock myself out aerobically at the gym, I then have mood swings that annoy everyone around me.)

This could really put a dent in traditional methods of disposing of leftover turkey. Bummer.

you could try wheat-free bread. there are lots of varieties, several of which are available at Trader Joe's.

I think it's actually the yeast. There may be cupcake experiments this weekend.

I seem to do okay with flour tortillas. More experimentation with those or pitas might be called for.

[I still haven't done the tea-off, by the way. So I probably shouldn't hold my breath on the wheat experiments, should I?]

if it's the yeast, maybe proper sourdough would be ok? (i'm reaching, i know, but it's my nature.)

Experiments are happening. Logs are being kept. Proper sourdough may be quite hard to find this far from civilisation. I shall consider this option though.

SF is like The Land Of Sourdough... i can't imagine none of it makes it down that far.

up here, it's a pain in the ass to find anything but sourdough.

By the way, if you think it is the yeast, try coming up with a quick bread recipe that is leavened using baking soda. Alternatively, go the Pesach route and have turkey on matzah.

Nonsense.

(1) A turkey-noodle casserole using rice noodles.

(2) Turkey in cornstarch thickened gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.

(3) Gluten-free bread (available at Trader Joes -- they have a rice-almond bread -- or Whole Paychek)

(4) Turkey wraps made in corn tortilla

Those are just off the top of my head.

Hey, I just said the *traditional* methods would be dented. By which I meant turkey and stuffing sandwiches.

"Eating" can be regarded as the main traditional method, but I wanted to be a bit more specific...

Here's a few more:

(5) Turkey stir-fry.
(6) Turkey omelettes.
(7) TURKEY CURRY! (Apparently quite the Boxing day cliché in the UK.)
(8) Turkey with a side of turkey, should we decide to go on the Atkins again.
(9) Turkey with mayo accompanied by a green salad.

Darn you all. I'm hungry now!

But turkey curry is served with rice? And sometimes even had realy exotic bits of dried fruit in it... the ones no-one could identify from the mixed dried fruit packet so avoided.

Oh, it just started snowing outside... snow and turkey talk... must start buying some presents...

Turkey curry is more of a post-Christmas cliché. It's not really a post-Thanksgiving cliché, but we're working on that.

Hmm, we do have that strange dried fruit packet that I refused to eat on the uncatered BA flight back from Worldcon... we could always throw those in...
