damn

I've confirmed that the wireless network signal does NOT extend all the way to the picnic table in the back of the garden. Rats. (It does reach the table under the avocado tree, but if I try to sit on the shady side the table has a tendency to tip over, and on the other side it's too sunny to see anything on my PowerBook screen apart from the dust.)

Oh well, back under the grape arbor it is. It must be nearly winter, the grape vines have dropped all of their leaves. (Hurrah for gardeners with leaf blowers!)

I don't think I'll ever get used to the weather here...

can't you extend the wireless signal with something geeky?

We've already got a cute little antenna on the wireless router. The problem is, there's another entire house between the router and the picnic table. (A very small house, but a house nonetheless.)

I'm picturing rabbit ears for the laptop, but somehow I don't know if that will help...
