seriously, who turned on the improbability drive?

I go offline for SIX DAYS, and...

* the Red Sox win EDIT: are going to the World Series;
* Kimi Raikonnen wins that F1 drivers championship; and
* Southern California is burning down.

What's next? Locusts?

The Red Sox have (so far this season) only won the AL pennant; they go up against the NL champions, the Colorado Rockies, in the World Series starting on Wednesday.

There! As an early Halloween trick, I just put on a [livejournal.com profile] dokhebi costume. I'm going to take it off, because I don't think I can fake like this for any period of time.

Fixed the Red Sox thing. Have I mentioned I'm a little tired?

The Red Sox won the American League pennant, not the World Series. (They won the World Series in 2004 by beating the Cardinals; legend has it that they must face the Cubs to harbinge the apocalypse.)

The Colorado Rockies won the National League pennant. Several say that this precedes locusts.

all right, fixed. Good use of the verb "harbinge" by the way.

Didn't we get a taste of that eighteen years ago when the Giants and the A's were in the World Series?

Sorry, my bad. I didn't realize I'd turned it up so high. Tonight I figured it was too high when I:

  • found a parking space withing 50 feet of Mary Chung's (Cambridge, MA) [although that really falls under my superpower as a Parking Space High Priestess]

  • ran into a Raleigh friend at Mary's

  • saw her again at Tosci's, and also Gary Dryfoos

  • got to chat with both Gus and Joe as they wrapped up a video interview about the history of ice cream in Boston

  • Eric Van and Joe discovered several shared interests

Well I don't know Joe, but... Eric stopped talking long enough for someone else to get a word in?!

Which aisle is the locust repellent on?
