Moving day(s)

[livejournal.com profile] stuartc and I got the bulk of our stuff moved from the Oakwood to the new house yesterday, mostly after dark. (Yes, even in sunny southern CA, it's still winter - still gets dark disconcertingly early...) This morning I basically have 3 hours to collect as much stuff as I can and high-tail it to the new place to wait for the TV to be delivered... then make the most of whatever spare time I have after that, tidying up here and maybe retrieving a few things from storage. Mostly I suspect I shall spend my time making massive lists of Yet More Stuff We Need And Somehow Don't Yet Have.

I'm not panicking, at least not yet.

Don't fret. Just deal with one room at a time (at least that's my approach). Most important room- bedroom, as sleep is important. Next on the list would be kitchen, cos eating is a good thing. Having said that, it still took me a month to be fully moved in to my bungalow. Granted I had to do house and garden all by myself, other than help from Emma painting the kitchen.

It is a fun test to see how long one can live without the "stuff me need and somehow don't have", as it makes you think about what you need after all. Fortunately most stuff is cheaper where you are than here, should you need to add to the fun of putting more stuff away!

Good luck. x Gypsy

I don't think I want to try living too long without a can opener, not with the spectre of all this tuna looming over me...

Luckily I have [livejournal.com profile] stuartc to help and to nag (I'm going to leave that sentence deliberately ambiguous as to who is helping and/or nagging whom!). He's very good at kicking me until I finish the many things I start.

Ah yes. Fortunately can openers are ubiquitous. But tuna- gah! Is this Atkins again or just what there's lots of?

Have fun playing with the new telly! SO many channels to choose from now...

Tuna is just what there's lots of. And I don't think there's actually going to be much to watch on the TV straight away - the cable guy's not coming until tomorrow...
