REI have outsmarted themselves. I think I'd rather just go back to the store and take my chances on them having the purple maglite in stock than attempt to reason with their online ordering system, especially as the shipping would be $6 on a $24 order anyway.

Stupid Internet... it PROMISED I'd never have to leave the couch again! Apparently we're not quite there yet.

REI will ship stuff to your local store and hold it for pickup at no shipping charge. They'll also take mail-order returns at any store so you don't have to pay return shippping. FYI...

I know they are evil and am not even sure they are in your part of CA, but my LONG quest for replacement purple mini-mag ended at Frys.

That does require couch leaving also.

What I really need is the keyring mag-lite (I've already got the 2-AA purple one).

We were actually just in Fry's today. I didn't see Maglites though. (Of course, I wasn't looking... and they are organized in a way that makes no sense to me anyway.)

I have an REI gift certificate that I'd really like to spend. Last time we went, they only had the maglite in black though.

ah - a micro. But $24?!!
I think the micro I got came with the blue mini one I purchased before I found a purple one at K-mart.

My friend had scoped out FRYs for me ahead of time so he knew vagely where they were. This had been a 12 month search!!
