oh, and

The PowerBook most definitely still smells of coffee. Soon it will smell of stale coffee.

Plus, it'll leave your Powerbook smelling springtime fresh :-)

Heh. I think I'm going to have to choose the scent VERY carefully. (On the bright side, the inside of that laptop probably does get as hot as the dryer!)

I think there is some residual coffee on one corner of the trackpad. That's probably a job for a not-very-damp cloth, and may be the entire source of the smell.

(thinks about this for a minute)

How do you KNOW this stuff?!

(wanders off wondering whether a similar strategy would work for Marc's poor couch)

The best response I ever heard to that question came from LASFSian Mark Schirmeister (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Schirmeister), who replied with a perfect deadpan, "It comes to me in a dream."

There's all SORTS of miracles out there attributed to dryer sheets.

I've had Boy Scouts swear up and down that if you put sheets underneath your hat, bugs will stay away from you all day.

So will the other Boy Scouts, if you pick the wrong fragrance! (I'm not saying that's entirely a bad thing.)
